# Start a game

Open a scheduled game and move it to live when you have permission to manage it.

## Who can start a game

* The Owner and authorized Admins can start any game in their event.
* Scorekeeper can start any game in the event.
* When Limited scorekeeping is enabled, a rostered player can start only a game involving their own team.

## Start the game

1. Open the event page.
2. Go to **Main menu → Games**.
3. Open the **Scheduled** game you need to manage.
4. In **Game Management**, select **Start Game**.

The game moves from **Scheduled** to **Live**. You can then record points and the supported game events.

## Check the game regulations

If you need to confirm the rules on the field:

1. Open **Game Management**.
2. Select **More Actions → Game Regulations**.

Ultie shows all regulations saved during schedule setup for this game. Check them before making a decision about game time, timeouts, halftime, or completion.

## If something blocks you

* **Start Game is not available:** check that the game is still scheduled and that your event role includes game management.
* **You have Limited scorekeeping access:** open a game involving your own team.
* **The game is already live or finished:** do not start it again.
