# Manage game time

Record timeouts, halftime, and pauses during a live game, or correct the game clock.

Use these controls while a game is **Live**. Timeout and halftime settings come from the [game regulations](/scorekeeping-and-live-games/start-game.md#check-the-game-regulations).

The main game clock continues to run during a timeout and halftime under WFDF rules.

## Record a timeout

1. Open **Game Management**.
2. Under the team taking the timeout, select **Timeout**.
3. Follow the timeout timer shown by Ultie.

Ultie uses the limit and duration from regulations and prevents an additional timeout when the team has no timeout available. The timeout finishes automatically when its configured duration ends. You can select **Finish** to end it earlier.

If the timeout was added by mistake, select **Delete**.

## Start halftime

Ultie warns staff when halftime is approaching. Staff still start it manually because the recorded time of the latest point may need correction.

1. Open **Game Management**.
2. Select **More Actions → Start Halftime**.
3. Select **Finish** when halftime is complete.

Select **Delete** only if halftime was started by mistake.

## Pause a game

Use a game pause for an interruption that is not a team timeout or halftime.

1. Open **Game Management**.
2. Select **More Actions → Pause Game**.
3. Select **Finish** when the interruption is over.

Select **Delete** if the pause was added by mistake.

## Correct the game clock

Use the clock controls in **Game Management** to adjust the recorded time:

* **−30 seconds**
* **−1 second**
* **+1 second**
* **+30 seconds**

This is most often needed to correct the clock near the start of a game.
