# Clipped group ranking rules

Understand the four-game clipped group format and its final ranking.

A clipped group uses 4 teams and 4 games. It saves one round compared with a full Round Robin while still producing a complete group ranking.

## Games

The teams enter the group as Seeds 1–4.

**First round**

1. Seed 1 plays Seed 4.
2. Seed 2 plays Seed 3.

**Second round**

3. The first-round winners play for 1st place.
4. The first-round losers play for 4th place.

Draws are not allowed in clipped group games.

## Final ranking

* The winner of the winners' game finishes 1st.
* The loser of the losers' game finishes 4th.
* The other 2 teams both finish 1–1 and are separated in this order:
  1. head-to-head result, when they met in the first round;
  2. goal difference across both games;
  3. goal difference against common opponents;
  4. average goals scored per game;
  5. preliminary seed.

The preliminary seed is the final tie-break. A clipped group does not use the WFDF disc-throw tie-break.
